Pier 7 should be rubbish. It's a shop positioned for the cruise ships when they arrive in Warnemunde. It should be filled with overprice tourist nonsense. So we avoided it when we first got off the ship and headed to the station - however, we had time to kill on the way back and stopped off before we got on the ship.
It's strawberry themed. The entire place is strawberry themed. Insanely cool, and much more of a delight than I had anticipated from first glance (I think Karl's is a local strawberry store with these pop-up strawberry shaped stalls, but I didn't know that when we arrived). Prices weren't bad either, compared to the other stores in town (remember it's pretty much a tourist reliant town).
So yeah, if you're arriving on a cruise ship then it's worth a gander. Certainly wasn't what I was expecting!
All things strawberry! You'll be surprised at the wide variety of strawberry-themed souvenirs here.
It's located at the cruise terminal and is clearly designed for the audience, a bit overpriced and things that would make good gifts for others. I tried the jam and it's delicious but I was worried about it breaking, and the more I thought about it, it's not like I can't get good jam at a farmers market closer to home.
There's a little café thing in here too, but we didn't go over to that and I believe it closes earlier than the gift shop.
I must admit I left with a spoon rest in the shape of a strawberry, and I love it and it's tacky and I don't even care!
