5 Stars! BREZEL BAR Withdrawal syndrome is a thing.
Our best breakfast during our visit to Berlin was without doubt at Brezel Bar! We liked it so much the first time, we came here twice during our ten day stay. The menu is entirely in German and our hosts while polite weren't as helpful in translating or assisting us with that part. Well who needs help with google translate! We ordered the Chillout, one on the menu before chillout an one after (can't recall the names) and all were amazing. The coffee here was also absolutely great! They definitely know their coffees!
Return? First place on the agenda after I book my tickets!
I could live in here honestly. Between the amazing pretzels, the tremendous music always playing and the strong coffee, jet lag's got nothing on me! Cash only and tap water on request (snicker). Seriously though, if this place were in Nashville I would honestly move my office here. The vibe is mellow and welcoming even for us from the states.
3.5**
Came here with a couchsurfer and just winged it. There's no English menu so we tried our best to order something. He saw the word pesto so I ordered it and I was quite upset to see no pesto sauce. Instead, there was a sprinkle of dried basil. My dish also came with a pretzel, half a banana, tomato slices, arugula and a scoop of fresh mozzarella. I can't say there was anything fancy to my dish. His on the other hand was more flavorful. He had a pretzel sandwich filled with veggies, cheese and salami. I also ordered a glazed crossiant thinking it was a pretzel crossiant based on color but it was still good. I was also surprised by the price for the crossiant - thought it would be more expensive. The pretzels are not freshly baked when you order nor was it kept warm so don't expect Auntie Ann's style pretzels.
As for seating, there's a few outdoors and more inside. Service was fast but the server/chef wasn't too friendly.
