My favorite meal that we had while in Munich. Not only is the food excellent with the pizzas being ridiculously big but the service is great and the staff is hilarious. They speak English really well and are very sarcastic and make sure you have a great experience. Don't miss this place - SO GOOD.

I really liked L'Osteria, we sat on the patio during a warm Spring day and it was perfect. Leopold Strasse is busy but they have nice separation with the sidewalk and landscaping plus it makes for great people watching. We didn't spend much time inside but it looked large and stylish, the bar was huge if I remember correctly. I think we had just a salad and the Margherita pizza and it was good, I like that they bring it out in 4 large pieces. I'm not sure on all their options but the thin crust was tasty and the sauce for our pizza was great. There were quite a few people hanging out having a good time. I wish we had more time on our vacation to come back again, it was a cool place to take a break, eat lunch and have a few beers!

I love pizza and Osteria is my favourite place to go for it. Although, my preferred restaurant is in the Künstlerhaus near Karlsplatz Stachus, on this occasion we were around the Uni (LMU) on Leopoldstrasse and decided to eat there. The pizza never disappoints! My favourite is the Salsiccia Piccante, and I more or less order this every time. But I must warn first time visitors that the pizza is very big, enough for two. Fortunately, if you are there as a couple you can order two different halves, and pay for the pricier pizza. However, it is rather comical when you are there as a regular, and see the waitress bring over two full sized pizzas for two customers. All customers receive bread and oil/balsamico to accompany the food, and we often order a salad to share as a side. The value for money factor is perfect! The Salsiccia Piccante is so thin and crispy, the sauce is spicy and the Salsiccia is very tasty. It is a very delicious pizza! The restaurant has a beautiful seating area outside, which is fantastic when the sun shines. However, be warned that you will probably need to reserve a table during peak times. The only critique from my latest visit was that the salad wasn't as good as previous visits; it seemed a little bland on this occasion.

Service was excellent, waitress spoke English very well, pizza was awesome! Thin crust and the perfect amount of cheese. The Rosé was also delicious and I would recommend. We also tried the chocolate soufflé which was served warm and cake with mango ice cream. With tip we spent 70€.

As I have already mentioned I am naturally suspicious of pizzerias outside of Italy :-) I must say I found the place very very crowded and loud and chaotic and at first I was a bit annoyed. Then I reminded myself that I was there on my quest to find the best pizza in Munich, so I forced myself to focus only on the pizza and not to be influenced by anything else. Did I find the best pizza there? No. :-) Still it was above the Munich average (I am talking about the restaurant in the Leopoldstrasse, not sure about the other one), and I enjoyed it. The only drawback for me (but it is for sure a plus for a lot of other people) is that the pizza is tooooo big, it basically sticks out of the plate and it's very difficult to slice and eat. In general I am not a fan of big portions, often, as the Germans say: "weniger ist mehr" :-) The prices were OK and the service very efficient and fast, also considering how full the place tends to get...

Huge ass (thin crust) pizzas that definitely stuff 2.5 people (or 2 if you can eat a lot). Pastas are delicious too, but closer to €€ than €. Reason it's 4 stars is because apparently the bread is free but the three times I've been there, they never gave us any (both the Karlsplatz location and this one). This time my friend asked if it was free and if we could have a basket... Waiter said yes, but it never came (oh well cause I don't think I could have stomached more food, but regardless). I like the Karlsplatz location better because they have gummies that you can take ... But the service at this one was SLIGHTLY better, but that's still not saying much about their service.

Great friendly service, way above German standards. Delicious thin-crust pizzas, big enough to share between 2, and incredibly well priced for Munich, even more when you are seating in Leopoldostraße. Would definitely come back! Highly recommended.

Best Gniocchi in town (with aurora sauce and shrimps)! And incredibly huge pizzas which you get for little money (~10EUR) and still taste super delicious!

This is where I take my friends who visit if they want a trendy pizza experience. I also sometimes tell them this is where the "Beautiful people" eat, however I may just be thinking of the waitresses. The pizzas are huge, always overflowing the large plates. It is very reasonable to split one and a salad and leave full, to finish one on your own is commendable. The atmosphere is hip (cool gun shaped lamps for example) and location is prime, right on Leopold Str. The service isn't that great, however I don't mind because it's great people watching. I would give this place 4.5 stars if that were possible. Prices are also very reasonable, about 6 Euros for a huge margarita pizza.

Came here on a Tuesday night with the lady friend. Turned out to be quite a good choice! We ordered the Gnocchi Scampi, a pizza (half and half Salsiccia Fresca and Prosciutto Crudo), and a half liter of the house red wine. The pizza was HUGE. It literally would not fit on the plate it was served on. The sheer size of the pizza makes it difficult to cut without it limping off the plate and touching the table. Which explains why they bring a huge place mat for the pizza. Our meal came in just under €30. A good deal around these parts, and especially for the amount and quality of food, if you ask me.

huge. cripsy. pizza. I've been here three times now. My first visit: I ordered a pasta dish and honestly, it was ok. mediocre. nothing that I haven't had before. Visit number two and three: I got my own pizza! I ordered it knowing that it was huge, but hey, I love pizza for breakfast so why not. One can never go wrong with pizza leftovers. I won't get anything else from now on. The crust is thin, crispy and perfect. Their wood-fired pizza really step up the flavor to the next level. Toppings are ample from a basic margherita pizza from €6.50 to a "deluxe" type with arugula, Proscuitto di Parma, cheese, etc for about €11. Either way you go, the pizza is huge! You can split a pizza to share OR you can order a whole pizza with different toppings for each half. The vibe is busy and bustling! You'll see locals and tourists stuffing their faces with pizza and washing it down with a tall beer or a glass of wine. The service is fast but spot on. This is no place for a quiet, slow dinner. It's great for groups. Nice, big patio for dining al fresco too. The place won't break the bank if you eat half the pizza while at L'Osteria and the other half later. It'll be like two, tasty meals for the price of one!
