I'm surprised that the reviews for this place aren't higher! Came with a group a couple of weeks ago on a Sunday night for dinner based on a local's recommendation, and we were not disappointed. There was no wait, the atmosphere was casual but moderately upscale, and the food was very good, authentic Bavarian food.
I got the white fish with the potato salad. Loved the potato salad with the subtle acidity. The fish was good as well - delicate and lightly fried, but I did get some overly salty bites. My boyfriend ordered the beef schnitzel with spaetzle and was raving over how good it was... he says it was his favorite meal in Germany. The spaetzle was so creamy, decadent, and delicious that everyone at our table was stealing bites of it from his plate. We ordered the Kaiserschmarrn for dessert (think an eggy, cut-up pancake with raisins and powdered sugar), which was also good. I also loved their beer, the Franziskaner Weissbier Naturtrub.
Solid choice if you are in the area!
Literally the best roast pork you will have. Sauerkraut mixed with soft bacon is incredible.
This is my favorite Bavarian restaurant in Munich. Big portions yet great quality too. It's popular for big groups so sometimes it is loud or closed for special events. Usually no problem getting a table as walk-in.
