Super lokal nur zum Empfehlen
Nice restaurant/beer garden with good German food, Augustiner beer and quite friendly staff.
I had a plate with a selection of very good Bavarian specialties which was a lot of food (for fair EUR 15.90), not to take it as an appetizer for only one person.
Best Wiener schnitzel in the city? Might just be so. I've been to this place two years in a row and it has consistently been excellent. Fortunately, this year the weather was mild and we were able to dine outside underneath the chestnut trees. The beer was excellent, which goes without saying of course. The schnitzel amazing. Cranberry sauce was a nice touch. Salads, breads etc. were all fresh and tasty although not as exciting as the schnitzel of course. Although, generally not a dessert person I made an exception with this place. Please remember to order the caramelized, apple pancake dessert. (That's probably not exactly what it's called) It was ridiculously amazing and ordering it is mandatory. Service was good, atmosphere relaxed, which made for a vey pleasant evening. Will be back next fall for sure.
Great beer, excellent choice of Bavarian food and some Italian thrown in for good measure :-)
Service is good and polite and all in all a great place to spend an evening with friends having really nice beer and food :-))
Would happily come back here anytime for an evening of drinks and food. Prices are also quite reasonable and I am totally in love with the area :-))
Excellent German food
Had a great Schnitzel, perfectly breaded, sizable portion and prepared with butter breading.
The potatoes were also to die for!
Oh. The side salad that accompanied the meal was nice to look at; I'm told it was good too.
Relaxed atmosphere, attentive but not pushy staff.
All in all a great dining experience
Would happily return.
4.5, because the service is slow. Otherwise, it's a 5 star meal.
What a spectacular, neighborhood-y, upscale dinner spot! The clientele was mostly local, but there are some tourists, and English menus. Our Munich-native friends brought us here for our last dinner in Munich.
Enjoy a delightful patio, good beer, and great food. Start with the obazda (creamy cheese dip) appetizer, while you figure out what your entree should be. As other reviewers have noted, the duck breast is spectacular -- I'm really picky about duck, and this knocked my socks off. The pork shoulder is also delicious. Save room for kaiserschmarrn -- they do this bread pudding dessert particularly well.
It's my second time with German food for dinner and we came here on a recommendation from family. The outdoor patio was clean and nicely spaces. The wait staff in their cute German costumes were friendly with passing the English menu to me.
I ordered the fried half chicken with potato salad...the chicken was delicious. Moist and juicy on the outside, and crispy on the outside, the potato salad was okay. I must say their Kaiserschmarm was delicious...it was soft and had big pieces. The raisins, caramel and almonds with powdered sugar was fabulous. The beer I had was heavy on the hops but pretty good after a day of sightseeing,
If you're looking for high quality German food, this is a great restaurant to visit. Apart from having a few classics (such as wiener schnitzel, schweinebraten and knödel) they have an awesome constantly changing menu with a lot of delicious German meals that you might not be able to find at your regular bräuhaus.
Awesome and cosy atmosphere, but service can be a bit slow. Make a reservation in advance. :)
I was here with friends for lunch, and I was so happy with my chicken liver salad that I'm giving them four stars in spite of the rather slow service. They serve breakfast all day, it seems, which was appreciated by a member of our party. The location is nice in Schwabing, not far from the Giselastrasse subway station, and with some interesting buildings around. Definitely worth a visit, especially when you can sit outside on a sunny day. Augustiner beer.
Richtig gutes bayrisches Lokal. Alle möglichen klassischen bayrischen Speisen. Sowohl innen als auch außen schön, leckeres Essen, gute Bedeinung. Perfekte Lage zentral in Schwabing.
Also immer wieder gerne.
